This tree is of Australian origin. It has delicate narrow drooping leaves which when crushed have a strong fragrance of Peppermint. Has a profusion of small white flowers in the spring. Growth rate is moderate.
It is related to Melaleuca and Leptospermum.
Form: Low branching, Natural form
Best Uses: It is an excellent ornamental plant.
Recommended Placement: Can be grown in full sun but also will thrive in partial shade. Needs to be protected from strong winds when young.
Optimal Soil: It requires well-drained loam soil
