Butia capitata requires full sun to moderate shade.
Butia capitata is grown in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. The palm grows up to 25 feet at a slow pace. It can easily be recognized by its feather palm pinnate leaves that curve inside around a thick stout trunk. It is extensively grown in warm temperate areas. It's juicy, edible fruits are about the size of large cherries, and are yellowish/orange in color.
