This tree is native to New Zealand. The tree tends to be globe shaped and spreads with a low canopy. It blooms in spring or summer with showy red stamens which form the flowers. The leaves are a dark gray/green with leathery texture. The tree bears small brown or gray colored, capsule shaped seed pods, which appear in summer or fall. Tends to grow areal roots.
